Attributes allow you to add custom, descriptive properties to your vehicles, drivers, and landmarks beyond the basic information. For example, you could assign categories such as “Equipment Type” to vehicles and then assign pre-defined values such as “winch,” “generator,” and “compressor.” Or, you could create an attribute such as “Towing Bed” with free-form values for a range. You can then use attributes as labels on reports and filters on maps and dashlets, such as only vehicles with a tow bed 25-30 ft, or only drivers who speak Spanish.
Attributes can also apply to hierarchies in order to manage distribution of information across all of the divisions, branches, and separate business units operating under an umbrella. Hierarchies allow you to easily schedule reports/alerts to automatically run for the appropriate vehicles and be delivered to the appropriate individuals, including automatic escalation of violation alerts.
