Installation Steps

  1. 1. Mounting the Monitor Bracket.

    1. Prepare the mounting point:
      • Choose the monitor location and wipe any residue with a 99.9% Alcohol Wipe.
      • Do not install the monitor where it may obstruct the driver’s view or obstruct an airbag device.
      • Ensure the mounting location of the monitor is in accordance with your State Guidelines.
      • Before drilling, ensure there are no cables or wires on the opposite side of the wall.
      • To lessen the chance that any wires will be harmed when the car is being driven, fasten all cables firmly.
    2. Place the monitor bracket in the desired location, for this example, we will be installing the bracket on the passenger side dash. Use a 4mm drill bit on all 3 holes.
    3. Use all 3 screws provided in the box to secure the monitor bracket. Utilize a 5/16th hex driver.

  2. 2. Placing Monitor into Bracket.

    1. Place the monitor into bracket, adjust to the angle desired, then place the star hand knob tightening screw provided in the box to both sides of the bracket in order to lock the monitor into place.

  3. 3. Connecting the Monitor and Wiring.

    1. After the monitor is locked into the bracket, take the female connector from the monitor and connect it into the male connector on the power supply cable provided in the box.

  4. 4. Connecting the Monitor and Wiring to Hub-X.

    1. Plug in the EXTMONSPAC (Y Splitter Cable):
      • The end of the cable that is labeled AV2 (LEG2) will be plugged into the Hub-X. For this example, we will be plugging into Channel 1 on the Hub-X.
      • Then plug in the cable that is labeled AV1 (LEG1) into the selected monitor channel. For this example, we will be using Channel 1.
      • Finally, plug in the side labeled CS2ADP or EXTMONSPAC into the external camera.
    2. If you have multiple cameras, you will need the same amount of EXTMONSPAC (Y Splitter Cable) for each external camera.

  5. 5. Connecting the Monitor Constant Power, Ignition & Ground Wiring.

    1. Locate the vehicles fuse panel, (for this example we used Posi-Taps to connect the Monitors) and connect Constant Power (Yellow), Ignition (Red) and Ground (Black) to the Vehicles Constant Power (Red), Ignition (White) and Ground (Black).
    2. Colors will vary depending on Make and Models.

  6. 6. Powering Up the Monitor.

    1. Turn on the vehicle’s ignition and the monitor should power up, showing all the camera feeds. For this example, this vehicle has 3 external Cameras. (2 side-mirror cams & 1 Back-up Cam).

  7. 7. Wiring Back-Up Camera, Left and Right Turn Signal.

    1. In order to get the back-up camera to show in the monitor full screen when putting vehicle in reverse, you will need to locate the vehicles reverse light wires and connect to one of the monitors four different trigger wires. Ensure the back-up camera is connected to the same input as the trigger wire being used for the reversing feed.
    2. To have the left and right external camera show up on the monitor when ever the driver hits either the left or right turn signal, you will need to locate the analog turn signal relay and wire one of the monitor trigger wires to the left and one to the right turn signals. They are sometimes behind the vehicles instrument cluster. These triggers only accept ANALOG signals. Ensure proper testing on suspect vehicle wire with DMM (Digital Multi Meter). Refer to the vehicle OEM body builder manuals for further info on where proper wiring may be found.

  8. 8. Storing.

    1. Once everything has been connected/wired, ensure there are no pinched cables, then neatly store the Hub-X unit along with the monitor harness/wires.
