Completing the Attributes Tab

You may use the Attributes Tab to enter any job and/or vehicle attributes (e.g., special equipment, driver name, etc.) associated with a stop location and/or vehicle. Additionally, you may associate a reward or penalty to an attribute.

Available Settings Tab Columns

Available columns are as follows (from left to right in the above image):

  • Attribute
  • Required
  • Reward
  • Penalty

Entering Attributes

How to Enter Attributes:

  1. In the Attributes tab, click the cell under the Name column in Row 1.
  2. Enter the attribute.
  3. Click the arrow to expand the drop-down window under the Required column in Row 1 to move to the next cell.
  4. Select yes or no.

If you select no, this indicates that the attribute is not required but preferred if entered in the Attributes column in the Locations Tab and/or the Vehicles Tab.

  5. Press the Tab key on your keyboard, or click the cell under the Reward column in Row 1, to move to the next cell.
  6. Enter the amount associated with successfully meeting the attribute for the stop location and/or vehicle, if entered in the Locations Tab or Vehicles Tab.

Entering a reward indicates that meeting the attribute for the stop location and/or vehicle could result in a potential profit.

  7. Press the Tab key on your keyboard, or click the cell under the Penalty column in Row 1, to move to the next cell.
  8. Enter the amount associated with not meeting the attribute for the stop location and/or vehicle, if entered in the Locations Tab or Vehicles Tab.

The higher the number entered for the attribute penalty, the harder the algorithm will work to optimize the route in such a way that the attribute is successfully met.

  9. Repeat the process until all attributes are entered.

If you require additional rows, click on Add Rows in the top-left corner of the Workbook Interface.
