ELD Certified software for devices will be available as of December 18, 2017. The ELD Certified software provides new and FMSCA approved methods for your drivers to take control of their driving records and supports all the new features introduced in the recent Hours of Service Portal update.
All tablets installed on or after Monday, December 18, 2017 must be updated to the newest version of ELD software to be compliant with FMSCA rules.
The FMCSA rule states that the install date (not the date of purchase) is the date that will determine if customers may continue to use devices with AOBRD software or if the devices must be updated to the newest version of ELD software. Therefore, if your ELD devices were installed prior to December 18, 2017, you have 2 years (December 2019) to update your devices.
