Updating Your ELD Tablet

The FMCSA is requiring all ELD tablets to be updated to version 10.0.4A. Please use the instructions provided below to update your device.

Updating the MDT7P

To update the MDT7P:

  1. In the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Enter the tablet password: gpsield
  3. In the Settings screen, tap Wi-Fi and toggle on the Wi-Fi in the top right corner.
  4. Tap the correct network and enter the wifi password.
  5. Navigate back to the Home screen and tap the Updater Application.
  6. In the Updater screen, tap ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES.’
  7. Locate eFleetSuite – if it says Update on the right, tap ‘Update’ to download the update.
  8. When prompted, select Install.
  9. If any other apps require an update, install, or download, be sure to complete all of them to ensure all appropriate files and applications are fully up to date.
  10. Turn the Wi-Fi off by repeating steps 1-3, but instead, toggle the Wi-fi off.
  11. Hold down the power button on the tablet and select the Power off option.
  12. Once the tablet is powered off, dock it back in the vehicle.

Updating the Connect Tablet

To update the Connect Tablet:

  1. In the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. In the Settings screen, tap WLAN and toggle on the Wi-Fi in the top right corner.
  3. Tap the correct network and enter the wifi password.
  4. Leave tablet alone for 10 minutes. The tablet should automatically update all necessary applications automatically once it is connected to wifi.
  5. After 10 minutes, confirm eFleetSuite is on version 10.0.4A by going to the tablet’s home screen, selecting eFleetSuite, and verifying the version number at the top left is 10.0.4A
  6. Turn wifi back off by going into Settings > WLAN > turn the wifi toggle at the top right back to off position.
  7. Turn off the tablet by holding down the red power button on the front of the tablet, and selecting the power off option.
  8. Once the tablet is powered off, put the tablet back in the vehicle.
